Dr. Heller hails from Pottsville, Pennsylvania (home of America’s oldest brewery). He received a Bachelor's in Science (Cum Laude) from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. He obtained a dual graduate degree from The Ohio State University - a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Masters of Science in Veterinary Pathobiology.
Following graduation from Ohio State, Dr. Heller completed an internship at a specialty hospital in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He participated in rotations in cardiology, radiology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, neurology, as well as other disciplines. During his internship, Dr. Heller was able to gain firsthand experience with veterinary specialists as they tackled numerous complex cases. This background further strengthened Dr. Heller’s ability to treat your pet’s illness.
In addition to practicing traditional veterinary medicine, Dr. Heller is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. He completed his studies at the Chi Institute with the world-renowned acupuncturist, Dr. Shen Huisheng Xie. To obtain certification in Veterinary Acupuncture, Dr. Heller completed 130 hours of intensive coursework. He is presently advancing his knowledge of Chinese Herbal Medicine by completing further studies at the Chi Institute. He is very excited to incorporate principles of eastern veterinary medicine into his practice when applicable.
On a personal note, Dr. Heller is an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the New York Mets. Dr. Heller resides in Madison Township with his wife (Brenna) and his daughters (Olivia and Lucy), newborn (Gabriel), a Bullmastiff (Porter) and Snowshoe Siamese (Cleo). Dr. Heller also has a pet Red Lored Amazon Parrot, Samson. Did you know that Amazon Parrots can live an average of 75 years!
Dr. Laura M Arington
Dr. Arington hails from a small family farm in Illinois which influenced her decision to become a veterinarian. Prior to obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Illinois, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Murray State University.
Dr. Arington resides in Cincinnati with her husband Brent. Currently their family consists of Cammie (bullmastiff), Mishu (shih-tzu), and two cats - Smitty and Squiggy. They enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, white water rafting, playing softball, and ultimate Frisbee. They especially enjoy traveling to places where they can explore the surroundings and play on the beach or maybe a scuba dive! When weather prohibits outdoor activities, Dr. Arington enjoys reading a good novel or watching movies.
