All About PetCare's Veterinary Services"The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue." Anonymous Our Veterinary ServicesWhether your pet requires preventative care (i.e. vaccinations, spaying/neutering, or wellness check-ups) or medical treatments during illness, our doctors utilize the latest veterinary medicine to provide the best care possible to your pet. In addition, we offer after hours emergency services as well as same day appointments for all sick patients. Let us provide total care for your pet's medical needs:
Advanced Pet Care Modern veterinary medicine offers many advanced diagnostics which aid us in ensuring your pet's well-being. Our hospital has invested in the equipment and training necessary to help us provide outstanding care for your pet. Pain Management: We employ pre-emptive pain management strategies for our surgical patients as well as those pets in chronic pain (such as arthritis). Our veterinarians believe strongly in optimal pain management for surgery patients. There are a variety of surgical pain relief packages depending on your pet's situation. Options include: an injection the day of surgery and accompanying post surgical pain relief medication for dispensing at home following the surgery, as well as morphine. Laboratory: We are fully equipped with advanced laboratory and diagnostic equipment on site and also utilize a full service outside veterinary laboratory to obtain comprehensive, accurate, and timely diagnostic data. Pharmacy: We maintain an extensive inventory of pharmaceuticals to meet the needs of your pets. We also work together with compounding pharmacies for special medication. Radiology: Our on-site x-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many illnesses ranging from fractures to obstructions. Progressive Anesthesia: We take special care of all of our surgical patients. After a thorough pre-anesthetic evaluation, an individualized anesthetic plan is formulated for your pet to maximize safety and comfort. A veterinary technician is assigned the exclusive task of monitoring your pet during the procedure and to provide post-operative nursing care. Intravenous Fluids are available to maintain blood pressure, oxygen perfusion, and speed clearance of anesthesia after surgery. Advanced Diagnostics: Our advanced monitoring equipment includes an electrocardiogram (ECG), pulse oximetry (blood oxygen), blood pressure monitors, tonometry, radiology and extensive in-house laboratory. Wellness Exams: After completing a yearly or semi-annual Wellness Examination, our veterinarians will evaluate your pet's age, breed and lifestyle to determine the risk of potential disease. After discussing your pet's needs, we will customize a preventive health care plan and vaccination schedule for your pet. Progressive Dental Care: We believe that proper dental care is one of the foundations of maintaining your pet's health and comfort. Periodontal disease occurs in 80% of cats & dogs over 3; it places a strain on your pet's immune system and can lead to serious liver, kidney, respiratory and heart disease. We provide an extensive dental care program, including cleaning and care of damaged teeth. Proper preventive dental care may add years to your pet's life. Feline Laser Declaw Surgery - All declaws are performed via laser and patients are able to receive extensive pain medication to assist in their post-surgical recovery. The advantages of laser declawing include: significant reduction of post operative pain; no bandaging required; faster recovery; less time away from home. While the cost of laser declawing is a little more expensive, we know it is worth it. Properly done, a declaw will provide a cat a lifetime of comfort and allow him to be an inside pet without causing all the damage. Consider having your pet declawed at the time of spaying or neutering. Not only is it more cost-effective for you, it is also less stressful and healthier for the pet.
